Disclosure Policy

I love this blog. I write what I want for an audience of seriously awesome people. The audience of seriously awesome people has recently grown, for which I am grateful. With a larger audience, I have more opportunity to monetize.

Monetizing is a really great opportunity for me. I can continue to write about engaging topics and share others’ stories, but I can also supplement our family income as a stay at home parent while doing it. You may not help feed my kids, but you may help fund a museum trip for the afternoon. Also, monetizing the site helps offset the cost of maintaining the site and helps fund future growth. Frankly I’m more likely to produce more of the content you enjoy if I’m getting just a little, tiny bit of money from it.

At this point, I’m only utilizing affiliate marketing. The content is UNCHANGED. For example, this post  has been on the blog for more than a year with lots of Amazon links. I changed those links (the same links) to affiliate links so now if you click the links to the saaaame exact products, Amazon will throw a couple shekels my way. That is it.

I may also give away and receive free products. If and when I do this, I will disclose that. If I’m reviewing a product, it will not affect my review. I do typically share and review things I really like. But if a product sucks, I will tell you.

That’s all, guys. It’s really not a huge change. In fact, it’s basically no change at all to the content you see. I just have a policy for the sake of transparency.
